OPEN MOTEC i2 STD LOG FILES (1 YR - RENEWAL)
GST included for Australian customers
MoTeC's i2 data analysis software has been developed over a number of years with valuable input from professional race teams worldwide. It delivers an extensive package of powerful analysis tools and innovative data management features, whilst maintaining a simple and intuitive user interface.
Designed from the ground up for speed and flexibility, the i2 environment can be customised to specific user requirements. Any number and combination of graphs, gauges and reports can be analysed simultaneously. User settings, screen layouts and maths are stored with each project, making it easy to deal with multiple vehicles or motorsport categories and to share data in a team environment.
There are two levels of analysis functionality; i2 Pro and i2 Standard.
i2 Standard is available to all customers with logging from a MoTeC Data Logger or ECU.
i2 Pro provides advanced mathematics, multiple overlay laps, and unlimited components, workbooks and worksheets. There are two ways to make log files compatible with i2 Pro.
The first option is a Pro Analysis upgrade on your ECU or logging system. This is a password enabled upgrade, which saves all log files from the device as 'Pro' files.
The second method is via the new Feature Licences, which allow data in different formats to be used with i2 Pro. See Licences for more details.
COMPATIBLE CODECS :
Windows 10 - i2 Compatible codecs
Some codecs (including the general release Windows 10 codec) are not compatible with i2.
To resolve this issue install one of these codecs.
- FFDShow Codec Rev 4531
- FFDShow Codec Rev 4531 (64 bit)
LICENCES :
i2 Pro Feature Licences
i2 Pro software now includes Feature Licences.
You can purchase the Licences to activate a particular feature on one physical computer.
The first released features include Licences to analyse non-Pro log files using i2 Pro and a Licence to manipulate log files via an API (Application Programming Interface).
FEATURES :
-
i2 Standard is available to all customers with logging from a MoTeC Data Logger or ECU.
- i2 Pro is available via a Pro Analysis upgrade on your ECU or Data Logger or by purchasing a Feature Licence, which allows data in different formats to be used with i2 Pro. See Licences for more details.
DATA :
Cursor and Zoom Linking
The graph zoom level and cursor position can be linked to other components such as histograms, scatter plots or other graphs. The displayed data and cursors will shift in accordance with the selection, updating all of the components consistently.
Data Gating‡
i2 supports advanced data gating, allowing regions of data to be excluded from histograms, scatter plots and other components according to a user specified maths condition.
Graphical Overlay Alignment‡
i2 provides a simple mechanism to graphically slide the overlay data into precise alignment.
‡ i2 Pro is required for these features - see Features
ANALYSIS COMPONENTS :
Graphs
Graphs are a fundamental part of data analysis and an important tool for seeing changes in data over time or distance. i2's graph component is quick and easy to use. It features:
- Time Variance Plot: The Time Variance Plot provides a quick view of where time has been gained or lost between laps, making it easy to focus on areas of difference.
- Overlapped and Tiled Graph Modes: Any number of channels can be grouped together on the same scale or configured individually. Channels can be displayed in a simple tiled mode or overlapped for a more advanced view. A simple press of a key toggles between these modes.
- Dual Cursor Support‡: Differential measurements can be made by placing two independently controlled cursors on the one graph. i2 automatically calculates the difference in channel value between the two cursors, as well as the minimum, maximum, average and time or distance differential. Comparisons can also be made simultaneously across multiple overlays.
Multiple Overlay Support‡
An effective way of comparing multiple sets of data is displaying simultaneously two or more laps from previous outings, sessions or drivers in overlays.
This can be used for highlighting problematic areas or identifying the best performance through a section of track. When evaluating driver consistency it is easy to see differences in braking points, throttle application and steering input.
Synchronised Video
Multiple video streams (e.g. from in-car cameras) can be linked with logged data for synchronised playback of footage alongside other analysis components. Multiple camera angles can be viewed concurrently and, when overlay data is selected, these views update to show a side by side comparison.
- Automatic Synchronisation using a MoTeC V2: Automated CAN Synchronisation of video and data is now available in i2 Standard when using a MoTeC V2. No extra modules or wiring are needed. The software places CAN messages in the video and data files and these are automatically matched up, so users simply download their video and open their logged data and the two are aligned. Currently supported for ADL2, ADL3, SDL3 and ACL.
- Automatic Synchronisation using a non-MoTeC Camera System‡: Video from any camera system can be automatically aligned with logged data by recording regular sync points onto the audio track of the video. i2 identifies which video belongs with which log file and automatically aligns the data. This requires the small VSM Video Sync Module connected to an auxiliary output of a MoTeC Dash Logger and to the audio input of the camera. Currently supported for ADL3 and SDL3.
- Manual Synchronisation‡: Video footage can also be manually synchronised with logged data, by aligning a specific site in both files. This requires a standard video capture device.
Reports
The various i2 reports provide simple to read statistical summaries in both tabular and graphical format.
- Channel Reports: Channel reports allow users to view statistical summaries across track sections (or laps) for any number of configured channels. Statistical functions include: minimum, maximum, average and standard deviation along with section start values, end values and their differences.
- Time Reports: Section time reports show split times along with gained or lost time for overlays. The report also includes the fastest rolling and eclectic lap times and consistency highlighting. Both section time reports and channel reports support export of data into CSV formats.
- Track Reports: Track reports present the same statistics as the channel reports but in a graphical format, making it easy to see where the events occurred. The track report also shows one or more channels as a colour gradient which is useful for identifying braking or accelerating areas, or for visualising any other channel. The colour gradients of two laps can also be compared side by side. In addition, i2’s cursor animation feature shows the relative track position at any time during two different laps.
